We set up continuous vulnerability scanning of your environment, identify security weaknesses, prioritize them, and provide actionable remediation guidance
Do not automatically trust a user or device just because it is inside the corporate network.
This makes it particularly relevant for:
- Remote workers
- Hybrid work
- Contractors
- Third-party users
- Private applications
- Applications that should not be exposed directly to the internet
The F-Series is designed for different network sizes and performance requirements. Barracuda’s documentation describes the F-Series as hardware models ranging from smaller environments to large data-center deployments.
F12, F18, F80, F180, F280, F380, F400, F600, F800, F900, F1000, etc. are primarily hardware/performance models—not completely different firewall technologies.
The security functionality comes from the CloudGen Firewall platform; the model determines things such as capacity, interfaces, form factor and scalability.
Barracuda’s published model comparison, for example, shows increasing firewall/VPN/IPS performance across the F-Series.
Simplified segmentation
Models | General positioning |
F12 / F18 | Small/branch/SMB environments |
F80 / F93 | Small-to-medium environments |
F180 / F193 | Medium environments |
F280 / F380 | Medium/high-performance environments |
F400 | Larger enterprise |
F600 | Large enterprise |
F800 | Large enterprise/data-center |
F900 | High-performance/data-center |
F1000 | Very high-performance/data-center |
F2000/F2040/F2100 class | High-end enterprise/data-center |
These are small network-security/connectivity appliances, not full-size CloudGen Firewall appliances.
They are useful for connecting and securing distributed/remote locations and extending secure connectivity.
Barracuda’s documentation shows that SC20/SC21/SC24/SC25 have the same basic 1-GbE WAN and three 1-GbE LAN interfaces, while options differ for Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity.
This is very important for customers using:
- AWS
- Microsoft Azure
- Google Cloud
- Virtualized infrastructure
- Cloud-based network architectures
